Dr. Tamburrino is a distinguished interventional cardiologist, showcasing clinical expertise in the realm of interventional cardiology, particularly in high-risk interventions such as CTO, brachytherapy, complex high-risk interventions, and cardiogenic shock.
His academic journey includes the completion of a medical residency at St. Vincent's Hospital, where he earned recognition as Intern of the Year and later served as Chief Medical Resident. Subsequently, Dr. Tamburrino pursued his Cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent's Hospital, assuming the role of Chief Cardiac Fellow. Furthering his specialization, he underwent training in Interventional Cardiology at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan.
Currently holding the prestigious position of Director of Cardiac Interventions in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Staten Island University Hospital, Dr. Tamburrino plays a pivotal role in ensuring quality control not only within the hospital's Cardiac Cath Lab but also across the broader Northwell Healthcare System.
Beyond his hospital duties, Dr. Tamburrino serves as a Senior Partner at Cardiovascular Associates of Staten Island and is the proprietor of Tamburrino Cardiology and Medical Associates of New Jersey.
Board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and vascular interpretation, Dr. Tamburrino extends his capabilities to performing echocardiography, holter monitoring, and nuclear stress testing.
